Character name: Gilbert "Prussia" Beilschmidt
Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Character journal:
preussen_ore
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight, but doesn't mind being bi for the sake of tormenting others, lol.
Category: Student
Year: Junior
Subject: N/A
Extracurricular activity/Sport activity: School Newspaper (could be given the leader position, if you like), Archery Club
Experimentations: Oblivious (but I'd LOVE it if he got called in for torturing...)
Appearance: Gilbert stands at 178cm (5'8"-ish) with short, white hair and devilish red-violet eyes. He is usually seen with an evil smirk on his face, usually hinting to trouble for everyone else. He's usually seen in the school uniform, though the tie is usually looser than should be allowed. If possible, he'll ditch the tie altogether. He wears an Iron Cross pendant in a silver chain around his neck, which is usually visible when he's in civilian wear. His clothes are usually stylish. There are also some odd times when he shows up in military uniforms.
Personality: Gilbert, or "Prussia", has been described as an "obnoxious jerk" and "a hooligan", which is strange given his military background. He's loud, tough, and tenacious, "badass" is probably a word he would prefer. "Awesome" would be the best, as he thinks he is the best thing that came to be since the Teutonic Knights. And while most people would think he's all foul-mouthed talk, he can surely back it up. He can talk the talk AND walk the walk. While he may seem like another loud-mouthed, brawling idiot, he's actually pretty intelligent, being able to get into the school with ease and maintain a more than decent grade point average.
Gilbert is a social animal, always looking to talk, laugh, joke, and brawl with others if he deems them worthy of his awesome presence. it's just that most times other people see him more as an "animal" rather than "social". He can be rather egotistical and rude, which of course rubs people wrong. He just believes he's that awesome, unfortunately for others. Despite how well (or not) he gets along with others, he declares that he has no problems with being alone.
Gilbert has a great fascination for the former country of Prussia, to the point that he has declared himself a Prussian, no matter how people remind him that the old Prussian territories have been taken in by other countries at present.
History: Gilbert and his little brother, Ludwig, lost their mother at a very young age. Because of this, the two boys pretty much grew up with hardly any female influence, though their father tried his hardest to be the best parent there could be to his sons. Their family had aristocratic and military roots and their father continued the classical and military education and lifestyle tradition that was inherent in the family for centuries. The boys were then tutored and schooled on various subjects and skills, including weapons and military training. History was also an important part of their education, instilling in the brothers a deep love for country and history. Gilbert, in particular, sympathized with the now-defunct state of Prussia and wished to uphold the greatness of the old kingdom in most everything that he did.
For many years, the brothers grew up together with mostly each other as company. Older, stronger, and more vigilant, Gilbert did his best to set an example to Ludwig. At the same time, he looked out for his little brother, as the other had a weaker constitution. Because of Ludwig's weaker physical condition, he took a lot of their father's attention and care, but Gilbert didn't particularly mind. He had accepted his role as elder brother long ago and did his best to help protect, care, and train Ludwig. No one was prouder than Gilbert when years later, Ludwig grew up to become a formidable force of his own.
Despite the value of discipline instilled in their rigorous "classical German" education, Gilbert was still a rebel, with an affection for violence and excess and an ego the size of Berlin to match. His father was both proud and exasperated with him. Gilbert got into trouble as much as he brought home compliments and awards from school. He could hold his own in an armed or unarmed fight, whether alone or in a team, but he had the habit of questioning his superiors. It was a maddening paradox.
Eventually, it was decided that Gilbert would probably benefit from a different system of education for a few years. That was when he got an application for Seikatsu High School and got accepted. The adjustment wasn't easy for Gilbert, who of course managed to ruffle feathers right and left and earned some enemies along the way, but he enjoyed every minute of it. As far as he was concerned, Seikatsu High needed a good dose of Awesome
